Is KavanaStock Good for Etsy Sellers? An Honest Answer
It helps with the part Etsy cannot do for you, and it does not do the part you might expect. Here is the full picture.
Quick answer
KavanaStock is good for Etsy sellers who want to know what each item really earns and avoid running out of materials. It is not an Etsy integration: it does not import orders or update your listing quantities automatically, so you record sales by hand. An Etsy order CSV import is planned. If you sell high volumes and need orders pulled in automatically, a channel-sync tool will suit you better.
What does KavanaStock do well for Etsy sellers?
- Shows your true profit per item. Recipes count materials, packaging and your own time, so you can see whether a listing is really worth selling. Our pricing guide shows how to build fees into your price.
- Warns you before materials run out. Low-stock alerts (Pro) mean a busy week does not stall on a missing wick or jar. See how to stop running out of materials.
- Flags slow-moving stock. Dead stock alerts (Premium) show products and materials that are tying up money.
- Costs little. The free plan covers 15 products and 30 materials, and Pro is £4.99 a month.
What does KavanaStock not do for Etsy sellers?
- No live Etsy sync. Orders do not arrive automatically, and stock does not deduct itself when you make a sale.
- No updating of Etsy listing quantities from KavanaStock.
- No tax-ready year-end reports yet. You get profit per item and sales reports, not accounting statements. A year-end summary export is planned.
Etsy fees change, so check the current fee schedule on Etsy when you set your prices.
How do Etsy sellers use KavanaStock in practice?
Most Etsy sellers on a small scale use a simple weekly routine:
- Build a recipe for each listing, with materials, packaging and your time.
- Once a week, record the week’s sales so stock levels stay right. It takes about ten minutes.
- Check your low-stock warnings and reorder what is running short.
- Look at which products earn the most per hour, and make more of those.
If you also sell at fairs, card sales through SumUp can be matched to products on Pro, so fair days need less typing.
When should an Etsy seller choose something else?
Choose a tool with live channel sync if you take many orders a day, sell on several marketplaces, or need accounting reports for your accountant. See our honest comparison with Craftybase and Stocksmith.
We plan to add an Etsy order CSV import and a year-end summary export. We are not planning live Etsy or Shopify syncing, Xero or QuickBooks links, or barcode scanning for now.
